Eleanor F. Martel, 82, of Salem, NH died Monday February 15, 2010 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem. Mrs. Martel was born in Derry, NH on April 19, 1927, daughter of the late Walter E. and Ruth (Conley) Stickney, Sr. She was employed in quality control by Klev-Bro Shoe Co. in Derry. She volunteered for the Derry Home Health and Hospice and also at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Mrs. Martel was an avid crafts person.
She is survived by her son, Warren R. Martel, Jr. of Osaka, Japan, her daughter, Cheryl M. Fogg of Derry, four grandchildren, two brothers, Warren Stickney of Atkinson, NH, Wallace Stickney of N. Salem, her sister, Ruth Arnfield of Poukeepsie, NY, also nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren R. Martel, Sr. in 1990.
Calling hours were held on Thursday February 18, 2010 from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, N. Salem.
