Alice J. Costello, 68, of Woonsocket, died Monday afternoon at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of Artemio L. Costello. They were married for 49 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James McGirl and Dorothy (Bonneville) (McGirl) DeCorpo.
Alice was raised in Providence and had the experience of living in many places around the world during her husband’s Navy career. Mrs. Costello lived in Woonsocket for the past 9 years.
Alice worked for several jewelry companies in the region and was a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed creating various crafts and decorations.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John, Robert, and Jose Costello, all of Woonsocket, two daughters, Maria Chudy of Pascoag, and Patrice Carvalho of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Robert DeCorpo of Warwick, Geraldine Belanger and Joyce Roesch, both of North Kingstown, and Rosemary Nichols and Etta O'Brien, both of Warwick. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours for Alice will be Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
