TYNGSBORO - Donald R. Garland Sr., 58, a life long resident of the Town of Tyngsboro, died unexpectedly Saturday August 8, 2009, in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Born in Lowell on November 8, 1950, he was a son of the late Charles R. Garland Jr and the late Shirley (Verry) Garland. He received his education in the Tyngsboro school system.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves on June 14, 1976 with the rank of Specialist 5.
Mr. Garland was the president and co-owner of Walbert Plastics in Lowell.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, playing pool, antique automobiles and collecting M&M figurines. He was also a member of the American Pool Association.
Surviving him are three sons Donald Garland Jr, Richard L. Garland and his companion April Dodge, and Robert Garland and his companion Mandy Gordon all of Tyngsboro; four grandchildren Chad, Miranda, Ava and Travis Lee Garland all of Tyngsboro; one sister Diane and her husband Kenneth Stimpson Sr of Tyngsboro; two brothers Charles Garland III and his wife Lola "Earlene", and Bruce Garland and his husband Alfred "Acie" Fuller all of Tyngsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery, Tyngsboro
