Lucien "Lou" Lacourse, 95, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 8th 2009 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Lucille E (Paquette)Lacourse with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage.
He was born in Lowell on Nov. 29, 1913 to the late Joseph and Azelie (Boucher) Lacourse.
He attended schools in Lowell then worked in the family Ice business until he enlisted into the Army Air Corp in 1941. He reached the rank of T/Sgt in the Eighth Air Force, stationed in England during WWII. He flew 28 successful missions receiving the Air Medal with 3 oak clusters as well as the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon his return from the war, he worked as a Salesman for New Hampshire Tobacco Co. While residing in Tyngsborough, he served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, a member of the Tyngsborough Housing Authority for the past 33 years, and a member of the American Legion Robert D. Pelletier Post 247.
Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters, Therese Gay of Tyngsborough and Marie Frangioni and her husband Ralph of Florida. He was blessed with five grandchildren; Lenny Gay Jr and his fiancé Rebecca White, Patricia Gay, and Tammielyn Gay, Ralph Frangioni III, and his wife Tana and Greg Frangioni and his fiance Kim Clark as well as four greatgrand Children, Dakota Lucien Gay, Haley Rene Frangioni, Sydney Marie Frangioni, Andrew E. White.
He was preceded by his daughter Vivian Lacourse.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 14th at Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Dracut at 10am. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary Magdalen Parish Building Fund at P.O.
