Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Joseph Casella, of Plymouth, passed away at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Donna (Miller) Casella of Plymouth. They recently celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary with their two children; Anthony J. "AJ" and Nicholas Casella. Tony is also survived by his children Maria Casella of Nashua, NH; Steve Casella of Kings Beach, CA; Robert Casella of Jackson, NH; Richard Casella of Sudbury, MA; Lynda Sandschulte of Edgewood, WA; Diane Casella of Danvers. He also leaves his 8 cherished grandchildren, his loving niece Melissa and nephews Derek, Ryan and Matthew, his brother-in-laws Gary Malone and Douglas Miller and the late John K. Bennett, his sister-in-laws Cheryl Malone and Sandra Miller and his mother-in-law Teresa Miller and his father-in-law, the late Douglas B. Miller, Sr.. Tony graduated from Newton High School and the Mass. College of Pharmacy. Tony served in the U.S Navy during WWII as a Navy Corpsman. He owned and operated Great Island Pharmacy and Casella’s Pharmacy on the Cape for many years. He was the past president of the Hyannis Kiwanis, a member of the Manomet Kiwanis, the John Alden Sportsman’s Club, the Dennis-Yarmouth School Committee, a charter member for Northeastern University National Council, the American Legion, VFW and was an honorary member of the Yarmouth Police Association. Tony was involved in the formation of the Cape Cod YMCA and enjoyed traveling, skiing, tennis and especially spending time with his children, attending their sporting events, and spending time with his grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 6th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11 AM followed by burial at Manomet Cemetery in Plymouth. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Friends of the Plymouth Council on Aging, 10 Cordage Park, Suite 108, Plymouth, MA 02360, to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St, Plymouth, MA 02360 or to the Charity of One’s Choice.
