Ruth F. (Buckley) Bowes - 89, of Hyde Park, June 23, 2009 at the home of her daughter, Shelley O'Hearn. Beloved wife of the late Bryan M. Bowes. Devoted mother of James Bowes and his wife Elizabeth of Arizona, Ruth Rokus and her husband Tom and Michelle O'Hearn and her husband Bud all of Brockton. Grandmother of Sheryl Daley of Middleboro, Kevin Rokus of Holliston and Brendon O'Hearn of Brockton. Great grandmother of Logan and Lucas Daley and Ashley Rokus. Sister of Gertrude Sands. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was born and raised in Randolph. She graduated from Stetson High where she was a scoring member of the girl's basketball team. Later in life she was a member of the Most Precious Blood Church Choir.
After retirement from the Supreme Super Market she enjoyed the outdoors golfing and gardening. She enjoyed cruises with her family and friends and summer vacations in Marshfield and Gloucester. She always enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and more recently with her great grandchildren. Ruth will lovingly be remembered as a devoted wife, beloved mother, an especially caring grandmother and great grandmother, loving sister, aunt and friend.
Funeral from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral mass in St. Pius X Church, Milton, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph.
