WEBSTER - Stanley J. Dudek, 83, of Webster, died Monday, May 18, in Saint Vincent Hospital with his family at his side.
He leaves a daughter, Christine A. Dudek, with whom he lived; 2 sons, Dennis J. Dudek of Acworth, GA and Alan P. Dudek and his wife Georgette “Petey” Dudek of Webster; 2 grandsons, Jesse and Jamie Dudek; 2 sisters, Lena Moroz and Theresa Jankowski, both of Webster; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Pietluck and by 2 brothers, John and Walter Dudek.
He was born and raised in Oxford, a son of Frank and Lucy (Mikos) Dudek and lived here most of his adult life. He graduated from Oxford High School.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Dudek first worked as a spinner at the Dodge Yarn Mills. He then was the yard foreman for Diamond International Lumber Company in their Dudley branch. After, he was a handyman for McKay Roofing. He also worked in the kitchen at The Lodge on Sundays for many years.
He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and the Polish American Veterans.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 21, at 11:00 AM in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, with the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council providing the military honors. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, in the funeral home. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street.
