Obituary

BEVERLY: Marion S. Staples, 81, of 15 Lenox Street died Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Born in Beverly on November 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Mildred (Eastman) Staples. A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a graduate of the Beverly High School class of 1945 and had attended Salem State College.
Miss Staples was employed for forty-three years as a clerk for the former New England Telephone Company, having retired in 1989.
She was a former member of the Heard Chapter No. 94 Order of the Eastern Star and an Advisory Board member of Beverly Assembly No. 95 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. She loved traveling and had many wonderful trips.
She is survived by her sister, Frances D. Staples of Beverly and many cousins.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 12 – 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4 Ocean St., Beverly, MA 01915 or the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Fl., Boston, MA 02110.
