Mr. Roland A. Leveille, 83, of 236 Jericho Road, Berlin, NH passed away on Saturday March 28, 2009 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. He was born on June 15, 1925 the son of Anesphore and Emelda (Fournier) Leveille in St. Francis Xavier, P.Q., Canada, where he grew up. He moved to Berlin in 1956 and was a self-employed business owner for many years in the logging business, snowmobile industry and as a mechanic. He was very involved in the snowmobile business and manufactured the Rocket Snowmobile. He was one of the founding members of the White Mountain Ridge Runners. He loved snowmobiling, was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Members of the family include his children Larry Leveille and wife Terry of Berlin, Monique Guay and husband Richard of Berlin, Lise Leveille of Gorham, Serge Leveille and wife Tammy of Berlin, Diane Leveille of Derry, NH and Marc Leveille of Derry, NH; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Armand Leveille of Berlin, Lucien Leveille of Windsor, P.Q. and Roger Leveille of Berlin. 4 sisters Dorina Bruno of Windsor, P.Q., Lilliane Morin of Montreal, P.Q., Lawrence Champagne of Sherbrooke, P.Q. and Huguette Cote of Greenley, P.Q.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Parent) Leveille, a brother Raymond Leveille and a sister Laurette Simoneau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 1, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
