Elizabeth M. Gauthier, 88, formerly of Manville, died Monday at Greenville Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Robert White who died in 1964, and the late Henry Gauthier who died in 2006.
Born in North New Portland, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Louise (Hall) Tripp. She was raised in Maine and resided in Manville for over 25 years.
Mrs. Gauthier was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and decorating. She had a soft spot for her pets.
Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother, and the cherished times spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Robert F. White III, of Sturbridge, MA, a daughter Sandra L. Johnson, of Thompson, CT, a step-son Gerald Gauthier, of PA, six grandchildren, Kerry and Cynthia White, Daniel Johnson, and Stephanie, Melissa, and Paul Gauthier. She was the sister of the late Randolph Tripp and Janice LaMont. She is also survived by two nieces.
Her funeral service will be Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville. Visiting hour will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI.
