EDGEWATER,FL____Eustachy Michajlow, 78, of Edgewater, formerly of Worcester, died May 18th in New Smyrna, Fl. His wife of 35 years, Doris M. (Boisjolie) Michajlow died March 24, 2008. He was born in Jeziory, Poland, son of Victor and Lydia (Naumczyk) Michajlow. He came to Worcester in 1951 and was a welder many years for Armour Porter Co. before retiring to Florida, where he opened the “Michajlow Art Studio”.
He leaves a son, Vadim Michajlow, and his wife Pamela, a daughter, Konkordia Ostromecki, widow of Richard, both of Worcester; a brother, Georgi Michajlow in Russia; two grandchildren, Vladimir Ostromecki and his wife Sarah, and Holly Gillen and her husband Elias, four great-grandhcildren, Maia and Owen Ostromecki and Elizabeth and Abbey St. Pierre.
Mr. Michajlow was an accomplished artist working in oils in the Flemish style for which he was awarded the International Order of Merit (IOM), Cambridge, England. He is also in two publications of Who’s Who in America and has received many honors. His paintings are in galleries and private collections all over the world.
The funeral will be held on Friday May 23 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Service at 9:00 a.m. in the Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Ressurrection, 63 Laurel St, Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday May 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Requiem service will be held at 7:00 p.m. during calling hours.
