Dorothy Wylene Dixon Greene, 85, of Tifton died Friday, May 9, 2008, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Tift Memorial Gardens. Dr. Bill Frye will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Greene was born on April 23, 1923 in Berrien County and was the daughter of John N. Dixon and Fannie Smith Dixon, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Arnold Doyle Greene; three brothers, Miles Dixon, J. W. Dixon and Otis Dixon; two sisters, Lois Cavenaugh and Maybelle Dixon; and one grandson, Timothy Greene. She was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center in the food service department as a baker and from the Tift County High School lunchroom. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith and had lived in Tift County most of her life.
Mrs. Greene is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Lutrelle Greene of Chula and Larry and Patti Greene of Sasser; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Earl Cook of Tifton and Patsy and Lenard Ellis of Tifton; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Ronald and Angie Cook, Angie and Mike Crumley, Deborah Cook, Martha Ellis, Sharon Ellis, Marilyn and Mark Norton, Shirley and Drew Wilson, Dee Dee Greene, and Candy and Mark Rigdon; and 12 great grandchildren, Britt Wilson, Justin Wilson, Ryan Norton, Avery Norton, Hunter Ray, Tanner Ray, Heather Rigdon, Savannah Ray, Cole Rigdon, Matthew Crumley, Jared Cook and Ivey Cook.
