Winnisquam-Marie Rose McGregor, 93, of 7 Baldwin Street, Franklin, formerly of 35 Joy Avenue, Winnisquam died peacefully on Friday evening, February 8, 2008 at Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin.
Marie was born in Taftville, Connecticut on December 21, 1914, the daughter of the late Alfred and Laura Rose (Gingras) Germain. Prior to moving to Franklin in 2003 she had been a resident of Winnisquam since 1973 coming from Southington, Connecticut.
Prior to her retirement in 1973, Marie was employed by Pratt & Whitney Company in East Hartford Connecticut for over 25 years in assembly & production. She also worked for a period of time at The Laconia Citizen. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont.
Marie is predeceased by her husband, James F. McGregor in 1978, a daughter, June McGregor in 1934, three brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter.
Marie is survived by two daughters, Joan T. Lewandoski and her husband Chet of Belmont, and Jeannette M. King of Plainville, Connecticut; six grandchildren, Anne Cote of Sanbornton, Karen Lewandoski of Northfield, Stephen Lewandoski of Goffstown, Wayne King of Oak Hills, Illinois, Donna King of Pine Meadow, Connecticut, and Scott King of Mystic, Connecticut. Five great-grandchildren and two nephews also survive Marie.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont at 10:00 a.m. Entombment followed at Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia to await burial in the family lot in the spring.
Visiting hours were held on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia.
