FALL RIVER … Major Arthur J. Levesque, Jr. U.S. Army retired, 87, of Fall River died Monday December 3, 2007 after a long illness. He was the widower of Yvette (Guimond) Levesque. He died at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Fall River the son of the late Arthur J. Levesque and Louise (Maltais) Levesque and had been a life long resident of the city. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years attaining rank of Major and is a veteran of WWII and Korea. He was a 60-year member of the Bristol County R.I. Elks Chapter 1860, member of the Reserve Officer Association and the Retired Officer Association. He is survived by 5 Sons: Arthur J. Levesque III of Bristol R.I., Ronald J. Levesque of Marietta, GA., Richard J. Levesque of Freetown, Ma., George J. Levesque and Norman J. Levesque both of Fall River, Ma. He was the brother of the late Normand Levesque, Roland Levesque, Lorraine Cusick and Lucille LaCroix. He had 14 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 9 am from South Coast Funeral Home 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church 529 Eastern Ave. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fall River.
