Obituary

Americo DiRuzzo,79, of Smithfield, owner of Rico’s Barber Salon in North Providence, died Sunday,October 7, 2007 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Carol(Improta)DiRuzzo.
Born in Italy, he was a son of the late Arduino and Adele (Paris) DiRuzzo. He had been a resident of Smithfield for 35 years.He was a Korean Army Veteran. He was the former owner of the Pleasant View Restaurant in Smithfield.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Gina A. DiRuzzo-Beeley of Johnston, Ronald DiRuzzo, Linda DiRuzzo, and Lisa Richards all of Smithfield, Steven A. DiRuzzo of Providence; step sons, William A. Vigeant of Johnston and Robert A. Vigeant of Cranston; grandsons, Anthony and Christopher Richards; siblings, Ida Schanze of Colorado, Anna Boschetti, Robert, Ronald and Anthony DiRuzzo all of North Providence. He was the brother of the late Gina A. Aurelio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 11 at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
