Henry Thomas Manders, Jr., 87, of Tifton died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007, at Tifton’s First Assembly of God. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Ricky Manders, Greg House, Christopher House, Vickers Stone, Randall Garner, Steve Garner, Kelly Manders and Bobby Manders will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Tifton’s First Assembly of God. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Manders was born on October 5, 1919 in Walton County and was the son of Henry Thomas Manders, Sr. and Beulah Bell Ramey Manders, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Garner Manders and one brother, T. W. Manders. He was retired from the Georgia Agrirama, where he did farming for tourists, and he was a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God. He had lived in Tift County all of his life.
Mr. Manders is survived by one son, Willie Thomas Manders of Tifton; one brother, Norris Manders of Sumner; one granddaughter, Ann House and her husband, Greg, of Omega; two grandsons, David Manders and his wife, Vickie, of Nashville, and Bobby Manders and his wife, Melissa, of Omega; and four great grandchildren, Christopher House, Joshua House, and Blake Manders, all of Omega; and Cruz Edmondson of Nashville.
