Obituary

Mr. Vasco Silva, 74, entered into rest peacefully with his family at his side on June 15, 2007 at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston after being recently diagnosed with Acute Leukemia.

Mr. Silva is survived by his loving Wife of 50 years, Mrs. Linda (Viveiros) Silva, 2 Daughters, Mrs. Michael (Brenda) Littlefield of Somerset and Mrs. Vincent (Paula) Campagna of Bristol, RI. He also leaves four cherished grandsons, Jason and Ryan Canulla and Vinny and Rocco Campagna. He was the son of the late Manuel and Angelina (Morgado) Silva and is survived by Brother Raymond Silva and his Wife Evelyn and Sister Mrs. Ned (Mary Angie) Almeida both of Fall River and Aunt Amelia Correia of Somerset.

He was born in Fall River. Before moving to Oakwood Estates, 500 Swansea Mall Drive, he and his wife resided at 166 Eastview Ave., Somerset for 46 years. Mr. Silva was a US Army Korean Conflict veteran. He managed and owned several clothing manufacturing businesses before retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Dominic Church.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, dear cousins, in-laws and friends. He brought joy and laughter to all who knew him and he was happiest when spending time with his family. He was an avid Thoroughbred Horse racing enthusiast.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home,Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Tuesday at 9:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dominic Church, G.A.R. Highway,Swansea at 11 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Monday 4-8 P.M.
