Marcel O. Chalifour, 78, of Manchester, died June 1, 2007, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was a lifelong resident of Manchester, born April 6, 1929, the son of Origene and Louise (Michaud) Chalifour.
Mr. Chalifour was a former vice president of Associated Grocers and Grand Union Champagne Division.
He was a communicant of St. Raphael Church.
He was a member of the Manchester Rotary Club and the Manchester Country Club. He was a board member of Catholic Medical Center, the Visiting Nurse Association, the Manchester Boys & Girls Club, and the NH Food Bank.
He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was also an avid golfer and loved all sports.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Lucille (Roy) Chalifour of Manchester; a daughter, Michelle Chalifour of Auburn; three sons, Raymond Chalifour and his companion Donna Buckley, Mark Chalifour and his wife Ann, all of Manchester, Dennis Chalifour and his wife Eleanor of Celebration, FL; eight grandchildren, Amy Finnerty, and her husband Steve, Kenneth Labonville, Danielle Labonville, Jason Chalifour, Christopher Chalifour, Meaghan Chalifour, Spencer Chalifour, Bridget Chalifour; and one aunt Germaine Michaud of Manchester.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday June 5, 2007 at St. Raphael Church.
