Obituary

PELHAM, NH— Judith (Dean) Culbert, a resident of Pelham for the past 22 years, died Monday morning at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Patrick ‘Paddy’ Culbert, with whom she celebrated their 37th anniversary in May of 2006.

She was born in Lowell, on February 9, 1950, a daughter of the late Henry ‘Chick’ Dean, and Eleanor (Hadley) Dean.

Mrs. Culbert had been employed as a Nursing Assistant for many years. She was an avid reader as well as a gourmet cook. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion, Post, #100, Pelham, NH.

Surviving her besides her husband are a daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Mark Spychalski, of Lynnfield; a son: Francis P. Culbert, II. Of Pelham; a grandson: Patrick Spychalski, of Lynnfield; sisters and brothers-in-law: Deborah (Dean) and Leo Chartier, of Pelham, NH; Cathy (Dean) and Jason Grant, of Pepperell; Cheryl (Dean) and Robert Martin, of Lowell; brother and sister-in-law: Henry and Diane (Laferriere) Dean, Jr., of Dracut; her mother-in-law: Florette Culbert, of Lowell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dawn and Chris Castner, of China, ME; John and Linda Culbert, of Lowell; Tim Culbert, and Charlotte Urbanek, of Winthrop, ME; Joseph Culbert, of Lowell; James Culbert, and Lisa Shmit, of Manchester, NH; an aunt and uncle: Barbara (Dean) and Doug Willett, of Dracut; also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Ella and Mark II Spychalski, aunt of the late Stephen Joseph Culbert, and daughter-in-law of the late Francis P. Culbert.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, January 25th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38), Lowell. Her Funeral Mass to be offered at 10:30 AM Friday, January 26th, at St. Rita’s Church, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice; 360 Merrimack Street; Lawrence, MA 01843.
