In Loving Memory of Iain Michael Brown:
July 20, 1968 – April 14, 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Iain Michael Brown, age 56, who died peacefully on April 14, 2025, following a brave and hard-fought battle with glioblastoma. His courage, strength, and grace throughout his illness were a true reflection of the way he lived his life.
Born in Lytham, England, on July 20, 1968, Iain brought humor, heart, and dedication to everything he did. A deeply respected leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, Iain served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Alkermes, where he guided Finance, Business Planning, Procurement, and Strategic Sourcing with insight and integrity. His career spanned more than 25 years, including key roles at EMD Serono in Geneva, Switzerland, and PricewaterhouseCoopers in England. Iain was a proud graduate of the University of Bradford, where he earned his degree in Business Studies, and he was a certified Chartered Accountant for nearly 30 years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Iain’s greatest joy and proudest role was being a father. He adored his children, Kaitlyn and William, who were always the light of his life. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures — days on the golf course, fishing trips, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and sharing laughs with family and friends. His sharp British wit and generous spirit were hallmarks of his character — unless, of course, you were sitting across from him at a poker table.
Iain is lovingly remembered by his children, Kaitlyn Brown and Will Brown; his father, Keith Brown; his mother, Kate Brown; his sister, Nikki Brown; his niece, Katie l’Anson; and Sara Austin Brown, the mother of his children. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony is being planned by his family and his cherished friends at Alkermes. Details will be shared in the coming days.
