Obituary

Nazmi Mehillaj, 80, of Worcester, a devoted family man and beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Lavdje (Cali) Mehillaj; a daughter, Migena Grillo and her husband, Foel of Worcester; a son, Enton Mehillaj and his wife, Oriola Koci and Northborough; two sisters, Vjoleta Danaj of Worcester and Albania, and Fatime Mehillaj of Albainia; four grandchildren, Stevie, Teddy, Altea, and Livia. He was predeceased by a brother, Ruzhdi Mehillaj.
Born in Tirana, Albania, Nazmi immigrated to the United States in 1996 in search of a better life for himself and his family. With determination and humility, he built a new home and a brighter future, never forgetting his roots.
Nazmi worked at the Webster House in the kitchen before joining Notre Dame Health Care, where he held several roles throughout his career. He retired in 2010, having earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his dedication and kindness.
He found great joy in traveling, especially when returning to his beloved Albania. However, his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family. Nazmi will be remembered for his warm heart, strong spirit, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 9th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. The family will gather on Thursday, April 10th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with burial in Hope Cemetery to follow.
