Kenneth Bruce Dukes, Sr., 86, of Ambrose, formerly of Tifton passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025, at his daughter’s residence in Ambrose. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Dukes at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kenneth Kickklighter officiating. Mr. Dukes will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born February 27, 1939, in Brookfield, Mr. Dukes was the son of the late William Dukes and Bernice Coarsey Dukes. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara Terry; one son, Kenneth Dukes, Jr.; one daughter, Sandra Wittaker; one brother, William Dukes; two sisters, Martha Bernice Dukes and Joyce McCurry. Before retiring, he was a self-employed carpenter; and he was of the Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
Mr. Dukes is survived by one son, Stephen Dukes of Nichols; two daughters and one son-in-law Michelle Reppond of Valdosta and Regina and Aaron Gieger of Ambrose; one step-daughter, Jessica Bennett of Valdosta; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Ginger Murray, Pansy and Greg Perry and Olivia Fullington, all of Tifton; 23 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
