Louise M. Tella – April 2, 1933 – April 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and love that the family of Louise M. Tella, of Marblehead, announce her passing on April 3, 2025 at the age of 92. Louise, affectionally known as GiGi, was born on April 2, 1933 in Medford, Massachusetts to the late Chester and Josephine Grillo. Her sister, Vera, predeceased her in 2018. Louise lived in Medford for over 50 years before she moved to Marblehead in the 1990s.
Louise was a devoted wife of 70 years to her loving husband, Ralph, of Marblehead, beloved mother to Linda J. Glazer and her husband, Hugh, of Marblehead, Janet A. Anzalone and her husband John, of Arlington, and Ralph R. Tella and his wife, Flora, of Malden. She was Nana to her adored grandchildren, Jaclyn Bedics and her husband, Christopher of Watertown, Alexandra Brasco and her husband James, of Weston, Zachary Tella, Stephanie Tella and Samantha Tella, all of Malden and great-grandmother to Brooke Bedics and Charlotte Brasco. Her life was marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering love. She was the heart and soul of our family, and her presence will be deeply missed.
A woman of great kindness and boundless love, Louise had a special gift for making every holiday an unforgettable experience. She loved the holidays and went above and beyond to create magical moments for her family, especially at Easter. Each year, she would lovingly hide Easter baskets for her grandchildren, designing an elaborate hunt that filled the day with joy and laughter. Her attention to detail and the effort she put into creating these traditions will forever be cherished by those who experienced them.
One of the qualities that defined Gigi was her natural ability to engage with anyone she met. She had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with a complete stranger that felt comfortable and effortless. Her warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others made everyone she encountered feel valued and heard, leaving an impression that lasted long after the conversation ended.
Her legacy of love, joy, and kindness will continue to live on in the memories she created and the lives she touched. We find comfort in knowing that her spirit will always be with us, especially during the holidays when her warmth and traditions will forever be a part of our hearts.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 8th at 11:15 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Jimmy Fund, the Padre Pio Foundation of America or a charity of your choosing.
