Marie Beebe, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on January 6, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born on September 25, 1926, in Santa Paula, California, to Ruperto and Beatriz Ramirez, Marie was the eldest of eight siblings. She was a proud graduate of Ventura High School and built a distinguished career with Pacific Bell, retiring after 26 years of service. Even after retirement, her dedication to helping others led her to continue working until the age of 89.
Marie was a gifted artisan, whose talents in sewing, knitting, needlepoint, and more earned her numerous awards at the county fair. She also ran a successful knitting business for several years, leaving a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship.
Her happiest days were spent with family and friends, especially in the cherished tranquility of Matilija Canyon with her beloved late husband, Fred Beebe. She also enjoyed gardening, playing Bunco, and creating beauty in every aspect of her life.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Beebe; her eldest son, Pete Juarez, I; her siblings Micaella Garcia, Jenny Centeno, and Marcie Centeno; and her parents, Ruperto and Beatriz Ramirez.
She is survived by her son Bill Culhane, daughter Theresa Beebe, grandchildren: Pete Juarez, II; Steven Tracy; Gary Culhane; RoseMarie Culhane; Robert Hayley; and Maria Hayley. Marie was also a proud great-grandmother to Jacob and Justin Juarez, Joel and Rigo Andrade, Reaghen and Rylen Tracy, and Alexander and Elliott Culhane. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Julian Ramirez, Ruperto Ramirez, Georgia Oropeza, and Virginia Centeno, sister-in-law, Lucille Jaurez, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her memory to support Alzheimer’s research, a cause close to her heart. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Livingston Hospice Services for helping make her last days comfortable.
Marie’s thoughtfulness, love, and enduring legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Marie’s life will be held at the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura on Thursday., Jan. 23 at 11:00 am. Visiting hours and viewing will be held the evening before, Wed., Jan. 22, 2025 in the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 pm.
