Rocco DiRenzo, age 82, of Medford passed away on Monday, December 9th. Born and raised in Lettomanopello, Italy, he was the son of the late Bartalomeo and Filomena (D'Alfonzo) DiRenzo. Rocco immigrated to the United States in 1965, settling first in Cambridge. Years later he and his family moved to Medford, where he lived for 50 years.
Rocco was the owner and operator of a construction and real estate development company. He was a hard working individual. He was very social and active in the community. Rocco was a member of the Lions Club and the Masons, and was vice president of the Italian American Federation. He was the owner of his own club, Paesani d'Italia and also owned a home in Italy which he loved to visit and spend time with extended family and friends.
Rocco was the beloved husband of Iolanda (Sabatini) DiRenzo, and the devoted father of Vilma Falso, Diana MacKenzie and Luigi DiRenzo. He was the loving grandfather of Gianna, Robert "Tino", Joseph, Robert "Bobby", Julia and Lillian "Lilly", and the dear brother of Luigi ""Gino" DiRenzo and the late Antonietta, Nicolo, Lucia and Giuseppina. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Rocco’s family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, December 18th from 4 to 7 PM, and again on Thursday, December 19th at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
