James Francis “Jimbo” McCarthy
October 6th, 1959 – October 31st, 2024

James Francis “Jimbo” McCarthy, 65, of Norwood, formerly of Brookline passed away suddenly at home on October 31, 2024. Born in Brookline to the late Justin and Ann (Donahue) McCarthy. He graduated from Brookline High School and Mass Bay Community College. His career spanned 40 years in the supermarket industry working for Stop & Shop, Star Market, and Big Y.

He is survived by his wife Mary C. McCarthy and his step-sons Thomas Cafferty and Patrick Sirrico, his siblings Ellen McCarthy Kline, Justin McCarthy, Michael McCarthy and his wife Anne, Jane McCarthy, and Carol McCarthy, his nieces and nephews Bethany Kline, Amanda McCarthy, Carly McCarthy, Michael McCarthy Jr., Sean McCarthy, Kelly McCarthy, Ryan McCarthy, Tony McCarthy, Jacqui Flood, and Allie Flood.

Jimbo was a big sports fan following his beloved New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Boston Bruins. He went to as many of their games as he could both at home and traveling all over to go to away games including two Super Bowl games.

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Friday, Nov. 15 from 4:00-8:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Funeral and interment services will be private.
