MONSON – Connor M. Monaghan, 25, of Monson, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, August 25, 2024. He was born in Springfield on August 13, 1999 and was raised in Monson. He graduated from Monson High School, where he was a lifelong resident and a member of the back to back State Champion Soccer Team. Connor was an avid New England Sports Fan and enjoyed the Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed attending sporting events and enjoyed watching European Soccer and Alabama Football. He enjoyed staying at Greenwood Hills Campground in RI and traveling with his brother around Europe. He was known for his loyalty, sarcasm, quick wit, and love for his family and friends. He leaves his loving mother and step-father, Sharon M. (Cairns) Bergeron and her husband, Mark D. Bergeron of Monson; his father, Patrick J. Monaghan of Pittsfield; his two cherished brothers, his twin, Kyle T. Monaghan and his fiancée, Hannah Hicks, of Boston; and Brandon M. Bergeron, of Southwick; his loving grandmother, Carol Daris and her husband, Paul, of West Springfield; his loving aunts and uncles, Sheryl J. Fijol and her husband, John, of Shrewsbury, Kimberly A. Masse and her husband, Darren, of Belchertown, Thomas L. Cairns and his wife, Sarah, of Myrtle Beach, SC, John Joe Monaghan and his wife, Kristen, of Monson, Stephen Monaghan of Greenfield, and Laurie Monaghan of Feeding Hills; his cherished cousins, Amber, Nicklaus, Zach, Cameron, Andrew, Colby and Caitlin; and Ryan, Meghan, Ciara, Aidan, Ashley, and Kathleen; and his many dear friends and extended family members, including the Giebner family in FL. Connor was predeceased by his grandparents, Thomas C. Cairns and his wife, Shirley J. (Denette) Cairns, and Michael and Bridie Monaghan; and his dear uncle and aunt, Michael Monaghan Jr. and Eileen Monaghan. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, September 6, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (413-532-9806), (the funeral home will open at 11 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee. MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
