Harold Dean Allen, Jr., 80, of Enigma passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at Emory University Midtown Hospital in Atlanta. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Allen at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Born December 12, 1943, in Enigma, Mr. Allen was the son of the late Harold Dean Allen, Sr. and Ruby Ray Allen. Before retiring, he was a supervisor with United Parcel Service; and he was a member of Albany Bible Church.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Carolyn Whitley Allen of Enigma; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Yancy and Debbie Allen of Pittsview, Alabama, Virgil Shan Allen of Enigma, and Kam and Karen Allen of Enigma; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Sara Allen of Douglas; two grandchildren and their spouses, Chancy and Kim Allen of Enigma and Kaela and Aaron Johnson of Wray; step-grandchildren, Doug Hall and family and Carmen Dowdy and her son, Trenton Dowdy; four great-grandchildren, Colton Allen, Bryson Allen, and Lane and Ada Kate Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and his lifelong friends, Rick Hughes, Bentley Barrentine and Tom Benefield.
