PUTNEY, John Wendall lifelong resident of Dedham, March 19, 2024, age 101. Beloved husband of the late Doris A. (Moran) Putney. Devoted father of John W. Putney and his wife Joyce Lipp Putney of Natick and M. Christine Jacobson and her husband Gary of Hingham. Grandfather of Jason Putney and his wife Jennifer of Wake Forest, NC. Brother of Joan Putney of Wellesley and Lolly Cimeno of Buzzards Bay.
Wendall was a World War II Veteran, U.S. Navy. He was a competitive bowler and prided himself for years traveling with a Barbershop Chorus.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Monday, March 25 from 9-10am followed by a Funeral Mass in St, Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
