Marissa Joleen DeVito, 19, of Hahira, Georgia, died Monday, November 20, 2023, in Boca Raton, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Pine Level Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Heitzman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
Marissa was born March 24, 2004, in Boynton Beach, Florida, to Christopher Robert & Mary Elizabeth Bishop DeVito. She graduated from Park Vista High School in 2022. Marissa was a CNA for Delray Medical Center and babysat for nurses on her time off. She was called “Mommy Marissa” by her friends. Marissa was very independent, focused and responsible. She was working on her Associates Degree in Nursing.
She is survived by her parents, Christopher & Mariel Bishop DeVito of Hahira; a sister, Angelina DeVito of Hahira; grandparents: Joseph & Lena DeVito of Boynton Beach, Florida and David Bishop of Valdosta; uncles: David DeVito of Boynton Beach, Florida and Zachary & Rumi Bishop of Hawaii; an aunt, Meredeth Jones of Toccoa; and her boyfriend and high school sweetheart, Jacob Sheiman of Boca Raton, Florida. Many cousins also survive.
