Obituary

ROBERT "BOB" JAMES FOSTER, 90, of Jefferson, Georgia passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was a retired master roller machine printer for Cranston Print Works, Webster, MA. He was the husband of the late Audrey R. Foster. They had been happily married for 31 years.

Born in North Providence, son of the late Robert Joseph Foster and Ruth L. (Ashton) Foster. He lived in Cranston, Warwick, North Scituate RI, Florida and Jefferson, GA.

Bob was a technical corporal in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War, employee of Fruit of the Loom and Pontiac Print Works in Warwick, RI, and longtime member of the Machine Printers and Engravers Association of the United States.

He was a friendly and social person who was loved by many. A proud father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a hard working man of high integrity and lived by the principle of doing things right, imparting these traits on to his children, grandchildren and all he met.

A master of carpentry, gunsmithing and fixer of all things. A lifelong outdoorsman, Bob found joy spending time hunting and competitive trap-skeet shooting. He was a member of several gun clubs; Athens Rifle Club, Elbert County Gun Club (Georgia) and Oak Run Shooting Sports Club - Robinson Ranch Trap and Skeet Club (Florida).

In retirement he took pleasure in many things in life such as; taking cruises and road trips with his partner Carol Francis, tinkering in his workshop and yard, talking with neighbors, attending his grandchildren’s sporting competitions and other events.

Bob will forever be in our hearts and will long be remembered for his humor and friendship.

Bob is survived by his three daughters: Kimberly R. Foster, and her husband Sandeep K. Joshi, grandsons: Mason and Harrison of NH; Kerri L. LaVerdiere, and her husband, H. Paul LaVerdiere and grandsons: Jonathan and Nicholas of MA; Heather L. Cini, and her husband, Frank J. Cini, grandchildren: Gabriel and Audriana of NH; his sons.: John P. Foster and the late Robert J. Foster; his brothers John J. Foster, William S. Foster and the late James H. Foster; as well as many nieces, nephews, and his partner Carol Francis.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Philip Church, Greenville, RI. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
