Luzzo, Anthony V. (“Tony”)
Retired MDC Police and US Court Marshal
Age 96 of Franklin (formerly of Arlington), died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (“Gerri”) R. (Darienzo) Luzzo, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.
Born May 10, 1927 in Boston’s North End, he was the loving Father of Nina M. Caissie (John) of Chelmsford, Michael A. Luzzo (Meredyth) of N. Andover, Denise R. Cousineau (Edward) of Franklin and Celeste A. Luzzo and her Fiancé, Brian McDonald of Burlington. Proud grandfather of Ashley, Kevin, Rachel, Chloe and Hunter and dear brother of Mary Butler, Vincent Luzzo and the late Rose Toscano, Bruno Luzzo and Anna Rago.
Tony served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, followed by his service to the Commonwealth of MA as an MDC Police Officer for 21 years. Upon his retirement from the police department, he worked as a U.S. Court Marshal for 16 years at the Federal Courthouse in Boston until his permanent retirement in 2007.
Tony was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending summers at Nahant Beach and winters in Ft. Lauderdale. He was an avid sports and die-hard Red Sox fan, who loved to squeeze in a round of golf whenever he could. He also enjoyed reading books and cooking.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling hours on Friday, Sept. 15th from 9-10:30 AM at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, which will be immediately followed by his funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Franklin at 11:00 AM.
Interment at St. Mary’s will be private and take place at a later date.
