Obituary

Mr. Mark Edward Arsenault, aged 65, unexpectedly passed away on August 16th while hiking in the woods. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Healy) Arsenault, with whom he shared 33 years of companionship and 28 years of marriage.

Born in Malden and raised in Saugus, Mark was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Gloria (Hynds) Arsenault. He was a master finish carpenter by profession, truly skilled in his craft. Mark found immense joy in being active outdoors, surrounding himself with the wonders of nature. He cherished moments of hiking, boating, playing pickleball, golfing, and taking leisurely walks with his adored dog, Marley. Mark was also an avid motorcyclist and took great delight in cruising around in his antique Corvette. However, above all, his heart was filled with immense love for his family and friends.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne; his son Justin Mark Arsenault of Saugus, MA; his daughter Jamie Lee DiGiantommaso and his two cherished grandchildren, Michael and Marco DiGiantommaso of Londonderry, NH. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Arthur Arsenault Jr. of Debary, Florida; his brother William Arsenault of Essex Juction, Vermont; his sister Denise Dragonetti of Brockton, MA; and his sister Gail Alexander of Saugus, MA. Mark is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Mark's memory to the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity (habitatboston.org), an organization that held significant meaning to him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden, MA on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn, 101 Forest Ave, Swampscott at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
