FALL RIVER - James P. Connearney, 59, residence 4901 No. Main St., Fall River, MA., formerly of North Charleston, S.C. and Somerset, MA., Athen, and Greece, died Monday at Sarah Brayton Rehabalitation Nursing Center, after a long illness with cancer. He was the former husband of Eugenia (Yialouri) Connearney of Greece. Besides his former wife of Greece, and his parents of Somerset, he is survived by One Son: Shawn P. Connearney of San Francisco, CA, One Daughter: Katerina Connearney of San Francisco, CA, Three Brothers: Martin Connearney of Brockton, MA, Lawrence Connearney of Louisville, Kentucky, Brendan Connearney of Fall River, MA, Two Sisters: Anne Marie Oliveira of Somerset, MA and Mary Beth Kleinberger of Dartmouth, MA, Several nieces and nephews.
Born in Waltham, MA, the son of James F. Connearney and Anne (Bailey)Connearney. He was a resident of North Charleston, SC., then Somerset, and Fall River. He was a 1965 Graduate of BMC Durfee High School, and a 1967 Graduate of Roger Williams Junior College. He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed reading and photography. He was a retired Senior Master Sgt. of the U.S. Air Force, serving 26 years during Viet Nam, the Persian Gulf War, and in Athens, Greece, Tacoma, WA., and Charleston, S.C. He retired from Charleston Air Force Base, remaining 10 yrs. after his retirement. Most of his career was spent in Greece. He was a parishoner of St. Joseph Church.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA on Friday at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, No. Main St., Fall River, MA at 10:00 AM. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 P.M.
