Janet B. (Laventure) Lanagan, 88, of East Freetown passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of Robert A. Lanagan.
Mrs. Lanagan was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Mary I. (Tripp) Laventure and had been a longtime resident of E. Freetown. She loved her country music and was a great singer and dancer. Her beloved dog Hannah was never far from her side.
Survivors along with her husband include her son: Wayne Pittsley of E. Freetown; step-son: Todd Lanagan of New Bedford; step-daughter: Robin Lanagan of New Bedford; along with many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Dale Pittsley and sister of the late Hilda M. Cornell, Albert R. Laventure, Ernest E. Laventure and Joseph A. Laventure.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Kirby Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday from 5-7 P.M.
Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Westport.
