Janet L. Loughlin passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on May 8, 2023, in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 76.
Janet, beloved partner of John H. “Buddy” Spellacy for 30 years, deceased, is survived by her daughter, Lorrinda Whitman, of Brockton, MA, her son Kevin Whitman and his wife Lisa Whitman of Taunton, MA.
Lovingly referred to as “Nana,” Janet is survived by her grandchildren, Caitlin Whitman of Brighton, MA, Shannon Dodge of Scituate, RI, Brandon Hathaway and his wife Elizabeth Hathaway of Taunton, MA, as well as her great granddaughters Sophia and Emilia Hathaway.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Judith Drew, of Forestdale, MA and her sister Patricia Darrah of Halifax, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Janet was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1965. She had a variety of professions over the years, including waitressing, bookkeeping, and secretarial work.
Janet loved cooking Sunday dinners and camping with her family, particularly at Canoe River Campground. She was an avid reader and loved computer games and puzzles. Janet was a good neighbor and friend. She loved animals and will be missed by her cat, Fitz.
Janet will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, and love of her family. She will be missed dearly.
