Cecile L. (Croteau) Belle-Isle

CHICOPEE – Cecile L. (Croteau) Belle-Isle, 92, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. She passed into Eternal Life at Heritage Hall South in Agawam surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 23, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late William J. and Rose (Gagne) Croteau. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School in 1948 and had lived in Chicopee her entire life. She was employed as a Beautician at several local salons in the area. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church and a member of the AMF Prime Time Bowling League and the Aldenville Senior Center, all in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soulmate, John L. Belle-Isle, who was Called Home on April 14, 2016. They were married on July 22, 1950 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving children, Darlene R. Belle-Isle and her wife, Erin C. Belle-Isle, of West Springfield and William J. Belle-Isle of Tempe, AZ; her cherished grandson, Michael J. Belle-Isle; her dear sister, Jeannette Riberdy and her husband, Alfred, of Feeding Hills; her two dear sisters in law, Claire Guenthner of Merrimack, NH and Audrey Belle-Isle of Rye, NH; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Claire Richards and her husband, Larry. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please meet directly at the church). Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Sainte Rose de Lima Church, c/o 15 Chapel Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 or Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
