Worcester__ Richard J. Melchione, 85, of Worcester died in his home on Tuesday August 9, 2022. He leaves his wife of forty-eight years, Helen (Silinskis) Bryant Melchione, five children, Charles Melchione and his wife Margie of Satellite Beach, FL, Timothy P Melchione and his wife Karen of Sagamore, MA, Richard Melchione of Melbourne, FL, Noel Reeves and her husband David of Woodstock, GA and Gina Smith and her husband Joel of Newbern, NC; five stepchildren; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Charles and sister Rita. He was born in Boston a son of Charles and Mary (Mercadante) Melchione.
Mr. Melchione served in the US Marin Corp for twenty-five years retiring in 1977 as a Master Sergeant having served two tours in Vietnam . He was the recipient of a purple heart and a bronze star during his tours. After his military retirement he worked for the Massachusetts Turnpike authority for many years.
He enjoyed playing poker at the casino, golf and watching TV.
A Calling hour will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME 298 Grafton Street from 10-11am.
