Gilbert Lester Pervier, 88, of West Boylston, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus after a period of declining health.
Gil was born in Worcester, MA, on October 25, 1933, son of the late Charles Lester Pervier and Marie Emelina (Barthelette) Pervier. He grew up in Southbridge, MA, and later moved to North Brookfield, MA, where he received his education. During the majority of his adult life Gil lived in Worcester for over 60 years.
Mr. Pervier served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance for over 30 years and, for many years, owned and operated Pervier Insurance Agency, 380 Burncoat Street, Worcester, MA, as an independent insurance agency.
Gilbert was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, enjoyed camping and traveling the country in his Holiday Rambler trailer and watching his favorite western programs and movies. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Morning Star Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Masonic District in Worcester MA for over 60 years, as well as a member of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction Scottish Rite since 1962. He is predeceased by his sister Jeannette C.(Pervier) Garry and brother Raymond C. Pervier.
Gil leaves 5 children James A. Pervier and his wife Suzanne of Spencer, MA, Michael C. Pervier and his wife Linda of Worcester, MA, Jennifer L. McHugh and husband Kurt of Natick, MA, Meagan J. Platt her husband Bryan of Ellington, CT. and Mathew J. H. Pervier and fiancé Jess Arce of Worcester, MA. Gilbert also leaves his 9 grandchildren, Christopher Pervier, Aaron Pervier, Nicole (Pervier) Seymour, Mark Pervier, Alisha (Pervier) Kaiser, Zackery Pervier, Mackenna Platt, Griffin Platt, Harrison Platt.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
