New Bedford – Robert Ferreira Nunes, a lifelong New Bedford, MA resident passed away on Sunday, September 19, at the age of 40 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. Rob passed surrounded by his family and in the peace of the Lord whom he always carried in his heart.
Rob was a successful Mechanical Engineer and a Medical Device Sales Representative who never believed in doing anything halfway. Rob gave his all to the relationships in his life and always had his own unique way of showing his family and friends how much he loved them. Rob was happiest when creating memories with those he loved and when surrounded by his niece and nephews who could never get enough of Tio Rob. The memories, stories, adventures and love felt for Rob will live in our hearts for an eternity.
Rob is survived by his parents, Egidio A. Nunes of Madeira, Portugal, Gina Alberto of Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal and Carlos Alberto of Figueira da Foz, Portugal; his siblings, Gina DeMelo and husband David DeMelo, Vilma Lopes and husband Dwayne Lopes, Danny Alberto and wife Mishell Alberto; niece Roya DeMelo; nephews, Matteo Alberto and Cristian Lopes; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital Robert F. Nunes Memorial Fund in Rob’s loving memory.

Robert's memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at the New Life South Coast Church located on 1331-1335 Cove Road, New Bedford, MA. All attendees are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Thank you
