George L. Jordan, 88, of Medway, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of Leona R. (Guptill) Jordan since 1959.
Born in Boston on September 11, 1932, he was the son of the late George L. and Irene (Fay) Jordan.
George grew up in Boston, the youngest of four children, and was a resident of Medway since 1961.
He proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Medway VFW Post 1526. He was a longtime friend of Bill W.
George worked as an engineer for many years before retiring and enjoyed woodworking.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Robert Jordan and his wife Suzanne of Northborough and his daughter Lisa Ahronian of Medway. He was the father of the late Gail Occhipinti.
He is also survived by five grandchildren - Matthew and Brian Jordan, Michelle, Holly and Kerri Ahronian and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Shirley Buckley, Robert Jordan and Richard Jordan.
His funeral service will take place privately, followed by his burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Due to the current Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in George’s memory to the Medway Food Pantry.
