Harold F. Noonan, 81, of Spencer, formerly of Auburn, passed away on Saturday January 20, 2018 in his home. He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra E. (MacNevin) Noonan and a grandson, James Lee Gilbert.
He is survived by his children, Vera E. Gilbert of Maine; Cheryl Ann Noonan of New Hampshire; Deirdre E. Belair and her husband Roy of Spencer with whom he made his home and Harold J. Noonan of Florida; six grandchildren, Richard H. Burns, John J. Noonan, Jason Gilbert, Melissa Trottier, Jonathan Valois and Andrew Valois. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and a nephew. Harold was born in Worcester a son of the late Charles F. and Blanche (Carlson) Noonan.
Mr. Noonan worked as a custodian for more than 20 years for Blackstone Valley Technical High School. He retired several years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the army in Germany. Mr. Noonan enjoyed motorcycle riding and being outdoors. He also liked to build model trains and cars. More than anything else he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday January 23, 2018 with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church of Sacred Heart - Saint Catherine of Sweden Parish, 600 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester is directing funeral arrangements.
