Mrs. Frances E. Cataldo, a Wilmington resident for 26years formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully, December 13, 2016, at the Winchester Hospital. She was 84 years of age. Frances was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Frank Cataldo. Born in Malden she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Antoinette (Radochia) Della Piana.
Frances was raised and educated in Malden and Medford and was a graduate of Malden High School. She worked for many years for the Federal Government and the United States Air Force as an office manager in the recruiting office at Hanscomb Air Force Base. Totally devoted to family, Frances traveled extensively throughout her life together with her late husband and her family. For many years she enjoyed spending the winter months at her home in Lakeland, Florida where she and her husband made many wonderful friendships over the years. Frances was strong in her Catholic faith and never missed going to Mass whether at her church or on the television. Her faith gave her great comfort and strength. In her leisure time, Frances enjoyed following the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, she seldom missed a game. However her greatest joy was her granddaughters. She cherished every moment with and was so proud of all of their many accomplishments.
Frances is survived by her devoted daughter, Debra Moretti and her husband Butch of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Christina and Kimberly Moretti both of Wilmington. Cherished sister of Elaine Oliveira of North Reading. Loving aunt of Cheryl Thomas, Danielle O'Neal, and Daniel Oliveira Jr.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Saturday, December 17th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Dorothy Church, Main St., Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Friday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
