Obituary


Joseph Aiello, 78, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA. He was born in Palermiti, Italy on March 29, 1938, the son of the late Giuseppe and Teresa (Canistra) Aiello, and had been a resident of Londonderry for the past eight years, formerly living in Somerville, MA and Hollywood, FL. Joseph graduated from Catanzaro High School in Catanzaro, Italy before coming to the U.S in 1958. He loved to cook and take care of his family and is forever known for his meatballs. He loved to spend his time gardening, spending time with the grandkids and teaching his nieces to cook. He loved to write and sing spiritual poetry about his hometown in Italy and was also a founder and active member of Maria S.S. Della Luce Association. Joseph was known for his amazing sense of humor and for having the biggest and softest heart. He was loved by all who met him.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Perron and her husband Kenny of Londonderry, NH; son, Michael Aiello of Somerville, MA; four grandchildren, Matthew and Jake Perron, Allie Kelly and Adrian Aiello; two sisters, Rachael Osburn of Hollywood, FL and Caterina Razionale of Middleborough, MA, along with several nieces and nephews. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Rosalie Aiello and his brother Aldo Aiello.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3pm to 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday at 10:30am in St. Mark's Church, 1 South Rd., Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's name to a charity of your choice.
