Worcester: Robert E. Briggs, 92, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife Marion A. (Magnuson) Briggs in 2013. He leaves 4 sons- Robert E. and his wife Nancy Briggs, Deacon Roy F. and his wife Denise Briggs, Donald S. and his wife Suzanne Briggs, David and his wife Colleen Briggs; 1 daughter- Carol and her husband Michael Cohen; 2 daughters-in-law Patricia Briggs and Bonnie Briggs; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by a son Warren Briggs, a daughter Patricia Brandli, 2 brothers Herbert and Arthur Briggs, and 1 sister Dorothy Fife.
Robert was born in Worcester, son of Herbert and Annette (Belisle) Briggs. Robert worked as a baker for the Bond Bread Company in Worcester. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII where he served on a LST ship. He also participated in the National LST Organization. He was a member of St. George's Catholic Church.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
