WESTPORT- Brenda Lee (Rego) Almeida, 43, of Westport died Friday, August 5, 2005 at home after a long illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of Joseph C. Rego, Sr. and Lorraine (Furtado) Rego of Westport she had been a life long resident of Westport.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. She had been employed at Fall River Florist as a supervisor for over 16 years until her illness. Mrs. Almeida was a graduate of Westport High School, class of 1980 where she was an outstanding athlete inducted into the Westport High School Hall of Fame and twice voted in who’s who of American high school athletes. She had also been named athlete of the year by the Boston Globe and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots Fan. She was a member of the New England Vikings Motorcycle Club of Taunton.
Survivors in addition to her parents include: 1 son- Evan P. Almeida of Westport; 1 brother-Joseph C. Rego, Jr. and his wife Dovalina of Westport; 1 sister- Tammy A. Borges and her husband Gregory of Fall River; 1 niece- Krystal Medeiros; 1 nephew-Joseph R. Rego.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Monday 4-8 P.M.
Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
