Rev. John R. Beal, 74, of Londonderry passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Parkland Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 30, 1941 in Plymouth a son of the late Earl W. and Minerva (Gallagher) Beal.
Dad enjoyed spending time with his family especially his 12 grandchildren. He took pleasure in practicing his old-fashioned, but accurate, left handed set shot, shooting hoops for hours. Dad had a tremendous sense of humor and quick wit. He also relaxed by watching baseball every summer and recalling the players from eras gone by.
Members of the family include his loving wife of 51 1/2 years, Naida (Peterson) Beal, three sons, Stephen Beal and his wife Amaris of Goffstown, Robert Beal , Peter Beal and his wife Louise of Rochester and a daughter, Mary Beth St. Louis and her husband Adam of Hooksett, daughter-in-law, Sue Beal of Manchester, 12 grandchildren: Stephen, Jr., Ryan, Erin, Sebastian, twins: Theodore and Jacqueline, Luke, Malcolm, Gideon, Zechariah, Rachel and Emma, two brothers, David Beal of Maine and Paul Beal of Londonderry, two nephews and one niece. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin sister, June Beal and a brother Roger.
Apart from his family, his greatest love was for His Savior, Jesus Christ and the study of the Word of God. Rev. Beal pastored churches in Maine, NH and Mass. In retirement years he worked at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
He was a graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute, Victoria, New Brunswick and Calvary Bible College, Kansas City, Missouri.
An hour of visitation was held Monday, April 18, 2016 from 10 to 11am at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A funeral service followed at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Craig Little of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. The burial followed at Pillsbury Cemetery in Londonderry.
