Gallagher, Mary Catherine (O’Connor) – Sept 18, 1932 – Dec 29, 2015 of West Roxbury, MA. Beloved wife to John M. Gallagher of West Roxbury, MA. Loving mother to Marianne McCarthy and her husband Gerry, Catherine Malone and her husband John, Michael J Gallagher and his wife Andrea, Judith Caputo and her husband Ed, Jane Gallagher, Sheila Gallagher, John M Gallagher, Jr., and Elizabeth Gallagher. Devoted Grandmother to Sean, Matt, Mike, Greg, John, Liz, Caroline, Ashley, Alanna, Nicole, Ed, Brianna, Joey and the late Michael and Great Grandmother to Danny, Ryan and Emma.
Mary married the love of her life, John Gallagher and celebrated 57 years of marriage. She was the loving mother to 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was in the first graduating class of Nursing from Boston College in 1954 and followed her RN degree with a masters from BC in Education for Nursing. She was a lifelong resident of West Roxbury and worked as a nurse at St Margaret’s Hospital and Hebrew Rehabilitation Centre.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Saturday January 2, at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday January 1, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Interment will be private.
