Dateline: Foxboro, MA Rudolph N. Schulz, age 86, of Foxboro, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth J. (Lambirth) Schulz, to whom he was wed for nearly 30 years at the time of her death on May 31, 1985. Born in Attleboro, MA on March 7, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Walter H., Sr. and Grace L. (Pike) Schulz. Rudy grew up and was educated in Mansfield, and as a youngster helped with the chores on his family’s farm in Mansfield. Mr. Schulz was the proud owner of the Schulz Sawmill, a business he operated along with his family in Foxboro. When younger, he was also a self-employed excavator. Rudy had made his home in Foxboro for the past 59 years and was a member and former deacon of the Union Church in South Foxboro. Mr. Schulz loved spending time with his adoring family and was also known by his many close friends and family as “Bubb” and “Bubba”. He enjoyed mechanical projects, woodworking, and when younger helping his brothers build their racecars. He is survived by his devoted children Deborah F. Palilunas and her husband David of Clearwater, Florida, Rudolph N. Schulz, Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas, Nancy A. McNamara and her husband Thomas of Andover, Maine, Daniel R. Schulz of Foxboro and Amy R. Mood and her husband Kempton of North Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Lillian “Sis” Titus of Mansfield and the late Walter “Sam” Schulz, Jr., Frederick A. Schulz, Sr., William R. Schulz, Sr., Richard A. Schulz, Sr., Herbert E. Schulz, Sr. and Paul E. Schulz, Sr. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Eric Palilunas, Alexander Palilunas, Zachary Schulz, Valerie Schulz, Kelsey Mood and Lillian Mood, his great grandsons Silas and Jonah Palilunas, and many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 19th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
