Joseph L. Cabral, 80, of Westport died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Elenor (Rego) Cabral.
Born in Westport, he was son of the late Joseph P. and Shirley A. (Tripp) Cabral. He was the owner/operator of Driftway Excavating Inc. Mr. Cabral was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport and a member of the International Union of Operators Engineer, Local 4. He was a player on Nicholas Cariglia's Westport Narry League Basketball Championship Team in 1953.
Including his wife, survivors include 3 brothers: John E. Cabral and his wife Lisa of Tiverton, David P. Cabral and his wife Lillian of Westport and William H. Cabral and his companion Lisa of Westport; 3 sisters: Virginia Famalare and her husband Anthony of Bradenton, FL, Lydia Camara and her husband Lionel of S. Dartmouth and Sharon Miranda of Westport; a sister-in-law: Rachel Cabral; a former sister-in-law: Cynthia Cabral; and many nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Manuel P. Cabral.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9 - 10 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
